Is Zhang Fei a good general in Evony?

Zhang Fei is a highly versatile General who can be used as both a Ground PvP General and a Defense General. Indeed, throughout his kit, you will see massive buffs given to all aspects of Ground Troops. However, even before any development, he is also off to a great start with his Special Skill, Unstoppable by Thousands, which adds 50% to Ground Troop HP and attack and 40% to their defense. On top of this, he faces no Skill Book restrictions, granting another opportunity for some quick extra buffs. You will also note that his Special Skill grants a 40% buff to Mounted Troop defense, however, further buffs to this troop type are limited elsewhere in his kit and you should therefore avoid using him as a Mounted General.

Zhang Fei – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Unstoppable by Thousands

Increases ground troops’ attack and HP by 50% and ground troops and mounted troops’ defense by 40% when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Zhang Fei will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Ground Troop Attack +15% and HP +10%.
• 2 Star – Attacking Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Increases ground troops’ attack by 10% and ground troops and mounted troops’ defense and HP by 10% when General is leading the army.
• 4 Star – Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Attack +10%, March Size Capacity +10%.
• 5 Star – Increases ground troops’ attack by 30% and ground troops and mounted troops’ defense and HP by 10% when General is leading the army.

Zhang Fei – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

Ground PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very ground-heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ground attack, HP, and speed. This build will work well for both a ground attack march and as a Wall Defense General. It will help your ground troops get to the enemy quicker and give them greater HP to withstand ranged attacks as they go forward.
