Is Petronas a good general in Evony?

Petronas is a quality option as an Evony Siege General. Once fully developed, he has one of the highest Siege Machine attacks in the game. Unfortunately, 30% of this attack buff does come from his final specialty which will take a large number of resources to attain.

This Evony General can also prove useful in a mixed march. Indeed, his skills and specialties also give some nice buffs to ranged troops. As such, for players making use of both these troop types, he can be a great option.

He can also be ascended for further siege buffs however he is not an easy general to go hold of. Therefore, as a candidate for ascension, he is a difficult option that will require a lot of spending to attain sufficient fragments.

Petronas – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Byzantine Commander

Increases siege machines’ attack by 40% and increases ranged troops and siege machines’ defense by 20% when General is leading the army to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Petronas will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +5%, Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Defense +20%.
• 2 Star – Enemy In-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
• 3 Star – March Size Capacity +14%.
• 4 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +10%, Marching Ranged Troop and Siege Machine HP +20%.
• 5 Star – Marching Siege Machine Attack +15%, Defense and HP +20%.

Petronas – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Siege PvP

Everything for this build is focused on improving a very heavy siege march. This is likely only viable for big spenders as the gem repair cost could be very high. However, it is particularly potent and will cause huge damage to the enemy.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Siege Machine Attack – Siege Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 Siege Machine Range Bonus – Siege Machine Range +200
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Axe – Siege Machine Attack % x4
• Armor – Siege Machine Defense % x4
• Boots – Siege Machine Defense % x4
• Helmet – Siege Machine HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Siege Machine HP % x4
• Ring – Siege Machine Attack % x4

Siege and Range PvP

This build focuses on a mixed range and siege PvP march. It looks to increase the damage output of both troop types whilst also increasing the ranged troop range.

You can always swap this for siege range if you prefer. However, we favor it on the ranged troops since siege machines already have an incredible attack range.

• Lvl 4 Ranged Troop Attack – Ranged Attack +25%
