Is Soult a good general in Evony?

Soult makes a great General for Ground PvP. All his skills are focused on driving up purely his Ground Troop stats. Indeed, his Special Skill alone brings a massive 35% attack buff and 15% HP and Defense Buff for Ground Troops. This can make him useful immediately.

This Evony General also benefits from not having any qualifiers attached to his skills or specialties. For example, they are active regardless of whether he is leading the troops in attack or defense. This can also make him a good option as an Evony Defense General.

Soult – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Please note, that this General can be ascended through the Evony General Ascending feature. Each ascended star level will add an additional buff to the General’s Special skill. Read our Evony General Ascending Guide for more details on Evony General Ascension.

Iron Arm

  • 1 Star – Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +10% and HP +5%.
  • 2 Star – Enemy in-city Troop Wounded into Death rate +10%.
  • 3 Star – When General is launching Alliance War, Rally Capacity +8%.
  • 4 Star – Ground Troop Attack +15%, Ground Troop and Mounted Troop HP +10%.
  • 5 Star – Increases ground troops’ attack by 15% and ground troops’ defense and HP by 10% when General is leading the army.

Soult – Builds

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Ground PvP

This build is ideal for players who are very ground-heavy. It sacrifices everything in favor of ground attack, HP, defense, and speed. This build will work well for both a ground attack march and as a Wall Defense General. It will help your ground troops get to the enemy quicker and give them greater HP to withstand ranged attacks as they go forward.

Alternatively, you can swap out one of the books for a March Size Skill Book if you only plan to use Soult in attack. This will allow you to send more troops but will not help in defense.

  • Skill Books:
  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop Defense – Ground Defense +25%
  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop HP – Ground HP +25%
  • Lvl 4 Ground Troop Speed – Ground Speed +20%
  • Equipment Refines:
  • Sword– Ground Troop Attack % x4
  • Armor – Ground Troop Defense % x4
  • Boots – Ground Troop Defense % x4
  • Helmet – Ground Troop HP % x4
  • Leg Armor – Ground Troop HP % x4
  • Ring – Ground Troop Attack % x4
