Is Spartacus a good general in Evony?

Although not particularly strong in terms of troop buffs, Spartacus does in fact prove very useful when it comes to Monster Hunting due to his Special Skill which increases march speed by 75% in these instances. This is great, especially in the early game when your march speeds are incredibly slow.

However, even outwith the early game this can prove useful, for example sending him as an Assistant General to hit a Monster very far from your keep will ensure your troops return much quicker than normal. Indeed, having a Spartacus attached to every one of your Monster marches will prove invaluable for fast Monster Hunting rallies.

Spartacus – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Gladiator

Increases March Speed by 75% towards Monsters when General is leading the army.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Spartacus will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – When attacking Monsters, Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +15%, Stamina cost -5%.
• 2 Star – When attacking Monsters, Double Items Drop Rate from Monsters +10%.
• 3 Star – When attacking Monsters, Ground Troop and Mounted Troop HP +15%, Stamina cost -5%.
• 4 Star – When attacking Monsters, Mounted Troop Attack +20% and HP +20%.
• 5 Star – When attacking Monsters, Mounted Troop Attack +40% and Defense +20%.

Spartacus – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

• Mounted Troop Defense +10%

Sabotage

• Enemy Troop Defense -10%

Unparalleled Leader

• Troop death-turning-wounded rate of troops when they are attacking +10%

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and mounted HP via equipment refines and skill books.

This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double item drop rate.

This will of course decrease your damage output slightly. However, the double drops are good compensation.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
