Is Louis IX a good general in Evony?

Despite not having a Ranged Attack buff as high as some of his peers, Louis IX is still a top-rated Evony Ranged PvP General. This is due to the frankly insane defense buff that these troops receive, making his marches super durable. Indeed, his Special Skill, Saint Louis, adds 40% attack and 45 defense to Ranged Troops!

Also adding to his utility is that all his Special Skill buffs and most of his Specialties are active in both attack and defense. Therefore, he can be used in both of these roles to great effect and as a result, also makes it into our list of the Best Ranged Defense Generals.

Louis IX – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Please note, that this General can be ascended through the Evony General Ascending feature. Each ascended star level will add an additional buff to the General’s Special skill. Read our Evony General Ascending Guide for more details on Evony General Ascension.

Saint Louis

Increases ranged troops’ attack by 40% and ranged troops’ defense by 45% when General is leading the army.
